Beltrán: "It's time to stand tall and get through this"
The forward's reaction to the Matchday 31 loss
Valencia CF's Lucas Beltrán spoke after the defeat to Elche CF on Matchday 31
Losing the regional derby
“We’re very hurt. It’s a bad situation, because we had many opportunities to win the game and we couldn’t take advantage of them. Personally, it hurts a lot, because the team work very hard, the fans always support us, and us not being able to repay them is very frustrating. We have to face it head-on and keep going.”
Taking chances
“We weren’t sharp, we didn’t take advantage of our chances and it cost us dearly. It was a good time for us to get three points, and we deserved to, but you win by scoring goals, not by deserving it.”
The fans
“They are always with us, regardless of where we play, and not being able to repay that affection and support really annoys us.”
The upcoming fixtures
“We can’t give up now. This is the time to be stronger than ever, stand tall, acknowledge our mistakes, take responsibility for this situation, and move forward. This group have a lot of character and commitment in these situations. We have to show it on the pitch.”
